Helping South Australians Save Energy and Reduce Costs
The Retailer Energy Productivity Scheme (REPS) is a South Australian Government initiative that helps households and businesses improve energy efficiency, reduce energy costs, and lower greenhouse gas emissions.
The scheme supports the installation of energy-efficient products and services across South Australia, with a particular focus on supporting low-income and vulnerable households.
How Does REPS Work?
Each year, the South Australian Minister for Energy and Mining sets Energy Productivity Targets that energy retailers are required to meet.
To help achieve these targets, energy retailers and accredited activity providers offer eligible households and businesses incentives such as free or discounted energy-efficient products and services.
Tango Energy has partnered with Demand Manager to deliver REPS activities on its behalf. Households and businesses can access REPS activities by contacting our activity provider, Demand Manager.

Who Can Access REPS?
Every South Australian household and business can participate in REPS. Participation in the scheme is completely voluntary.
REPS activities are designed to help customers:
- Improve energy efficiency
- Reduce energy use
- Lower electricity bills
- Reduce greenhouse gas emissions
Available Energy Efficiency Activities
Demand Manager provides a range of energy productivity activities on behalf of Tango Energy, including but not limited to:
- Commercial lighting upgrades
- Replacing or upgrading water heaters
- Installing efficient reverse cycle air conditioners (non-ducted)
- Installing efficient ducted evaporative air conditioners
- Connecting a new or existing battery to an approved virtual power plant
Costs and Co-payments
A minimum co-payment of $33 (including GST) applies to most REPS activities. Depending on the activity, there may also be additional charges.
This co-payment does not apply to eligible priority group or concession households.
Priority Group Households
A household may qualify as a priority group household if a resident:
- Holds a Commonwealth Government Pensioner Concession Card
- Holds a TPI Gold Repatriation Health Card
- Holds a War Widow Gold Repatriation Health Card
- Holds a Gold Repatriation Health Card (Extreme Disability Adjustment)
- Holds a Health Care Card (including a Low-Income Health Care Card)
- Receives the South Australian Government energy bill concession
- Has a residential tenancy agreement with weekly rent of $500 or less
- Is actively participating in an energy retailer hardship program
- Is actively participating in an energy retailer payment plan
- Has received a referral from a registered member of the South Australian Financial Counsellors Association.
