Cape Nelson North/Sir William Grant Wind Farm

The last stage of the Portland Wind Energy Project, PWEP IV, covering two sites – Cape Nelson North and Cape Sir William Grant – was completed in 2015.

The project comprises 23 Repower turbines with a combined capacity of 47.2MW, which will generate around 153 GWh* of clean energy each year or enough power for the equivalent needs of around 31,000* Victorian homes.

The turbines installed are Senvion MM82 and MM92 wind turbine generators, rated at 2.05MW each, with a maximum hub height of 80m and a maximum tip height of 126.5m.

As part of the operation of the project, Pacific Hydro continues to invest in local community initiatives via the Sustainable Communities Fund. More information can be found here.
